Abstract: The combustion performance of thermosetting composite polystyrene plate with the addition of inorganic salt hydrates was studied using oxygen bomb calorimeter, differential scanning calorimetry, thermal gravimetric analysis and single burning item method. The results indicated that the inorganic salt hydrates component could absorb the heat from the combustion of polystyrene particle, and then decreased the heat of the material, playing a role of fire-retardant and fireproof.
