Abstract: The FDS was used to analyze the typical fire scale of the homestay industry in Chongming District, Shanghai, and to study the impact of the number, location, and arrival time of fire rescue stations on the development scale of homestay fires. The results show that a reasonable fire rescue layout can significantly shorten the arrival time of fire alarms, thereby effectively controlling the scale of homestay fires. Meanwhile, the control of building components, decorative materials, and layout of homestays is also a key factor limiting the scale of fire development.
