Abstract: In order to analyze the root causes of the high-rise residential building fire causing death, and effectively prevent the occurrence of fire and reduce the casualties caused by the fire, the author investigated a fire accident in a typical high-rise residential building. The paper introduces the identification process of the fire time, the fire position and the cause of the fire, puts forward the experience of the fire investigation, analyzes the causes of the frequent disasters of small fire in high-rise residential building causing death and the importance of the complete evidence chain in the investigation of fire accident, and finally, from the three aspects of fire promotion, the unit subject responsibility, the management responsibility of the industry, the suggestions of preventing this kind of fire were put forward.
